I am not sure how much you know about computers but I am just going to suggest the very simplest thing. first you should reinstall/update your drivers and check all resolutions and settings in the display settings if you already haven't.

P.S. No need to type in all caps bud we still understand that your message is urgent, lol.

thanks for the reply. lost my reading glasses so put two pair on to read this. caps. don't mean anything when one is older. my friends call me buster when they are annoyed at me.
your reply is welcome.
i do not know how to reinstall drivers. that might spell disaster this side of the pecos.
i tried the latter in the display settings window, the existing viewing screen as displayed would not allow me to scroll down to the apply button on the pop up window.
i got as far down as 'advanced' only.

Hi Max,

It's been a while since you posted, but I thot I would respond anyway.

This problem is due to a change in your display resolution. LCD display's have a native display mode, and if this has changed due to a driver failure, you may (pending on the age and type of display) see the reduced screen size.

If you are able to change the Screen Resolution in the display setting window you should be able to correct the problem. I assume that the resolutiuon was changed to 640x480.. the correct resolution for your display is likely 1024x768 (however it may be 800x600.. so try that first). If you can not see the apply button due to it's position on the screen, drag the slider bar to the desired screen resolution and hit the "tab" button on your keyboard exactly 6 times. This will position the key focus on the Apply button, then press "enter". It should ask whether you wish to keep the screen setting.. do so if it is correct.

If you are unable to change the screen resolution, then you will need to update your display driver.

out of the mouths of babes, my young renter, solved the problem with the tab key allowing for the fix to take place.
should this come up again it is good to know this.
thanks for the reply.
