EETimes (http://www.eetimes.com/story/OEG20010813S0081) has a story up on the progress being made with A.I. The International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence was held recently showing off the powers of robots, including Sony's own robo-dogs playing soccer. MSNBC has a similar story up here (http://www.msnbc.com/news/612350.asp?0dm=C23BT).
Advancement in this area is evident, with the robots actually being able to perform simple tasks. Personally, I see robots as a common household occurance within a few years, performing many of our tedious chores. Just watch out for the Robot Rights Group!
