"JOHN CARMACK, creator of the original Doom games and CEO of succesful games group ID Software, announced on the 10th that the X-box would be the perfect console for the game.
He said this at QuakeCon last week, where Quake 4 was revealed to be in development. Carmack claims that the PS/2 won't be nearly powerful enough to run Doom 3, and that the X-box is the only next-gen console right now that he has in mind for the game.
Having seen the downloadable video of the QuakeCon Carmack announcement, and having seen the astounding graphical power of Doom 3, I think it's safe to say that the x-box would definitely be the perfect partner for a PC port.
The video itself involves simply amazing graphics, while the demo is talked through by the King of PC Gaming himself (Carmack).
Particularly notice the power of the demo when the in-game characters show themselves on screen, the graphical rendering being nothing short of perfect -- especially when you consider that this isn't simply a CGI sequence but actually the game characters as they will appear during play.
Doom 3 is indeed one to watch, as I'm sure most of you have gathered by now. Especially if it is in fact making it's way to the X-box, which could be a huge boost for Microsoft sales."
