Today, Microsoft Canada said that it will begin selling the Xbox game console on Nov. 8--the same day set for the launch in the United States. The console will cost about $298 (459.99 Canadian dollars), or the same price it will go for in the States.

I always get confused with canadian to us money translations. What is canadian minimum wage? If it is $5.15 canadian dollars- thats pretty poor. Or is it $5.15 us dollars- converted to canadian dollars?

keep in mind that Im not saying the canadian min. wage is $5.15- Im just using it as an example. can anyone help me out here. I want to know if paying $459 for an x box is as rediculous as it sounds (and not just cuz its an xbox ;))

Minimum wage varies here from like 6 bucks to 8 bucks, depending on province.

Sounds like less, but overall our cost of living is less expensive up here.

460$ is a fair chunk of change, but nothing that someone with a job can't afford.

The exchange rate is hovering at about 0.66 right now... meaning that 1 US$ is about 1.50 here.

That's cool though, cause we get a lot of this cheaper than what you'd have to pay in the states... something 100$ down there, might only be 130$ up here. So in the end, we get stuff cheaper :)
