I was gonna say X-box but since it's made by M$ I chose the cube. I don't trust MS and I know Nintendo can make good games (there's a reason Mario in Super Smash Brothers had more than 14000 kills on my bro's N64 :))

i want xbox but i still want ps2 more cause all my favorite series of games went to that and i have played them noth and i decided i like ps2 more. i wanna get metal gear solid 2 and tonyhawk 3 and twisted metal black mainly and the cool thing will be the dvd poplayer on ps2 also so ill finally get to watch them =)

PS2, i love it. With DMC, MGS2, great games. All there sports games. I love PS2.:D

If I had the money to waste, I would buy a GameCube. Nintendo makes games for the family. This is what I see a console being good for.

If I wanted a Celeron, NVidia motherboard chipset and internet access the Xbox provides... Oh wait! I can get that in a computer.

If I get a DVD player, it's going to be a separate component like my VCR.

PS2 - I think the GameCube is replacing this as a standard. GC has too many benefits.

I would have to agree and saya the gc.

I beleive the gc is gonna be one hell of a game machine and will follow in the path of the n64 and be a great system to play with a big group of ppl.

The Ps2 is nice and all but if i really want to i can buy my own DVD player. Also at 299 it just costs to much. Plus i also think the gc will be morte powerful.

HA the Xbox is a joke. THe xobox is nothing but an over glorified pc that is made by microsoft. Ms does not have the best record in the world either for making quality things. Also the shipments that many retailers have recieved have been buggy and just flat out don't work. Xbox=crap!!!!!1

I'd have to get a PS2 because of all the games already out and its backwards compatability. In reality I probably won't be buying any new consoles for a year or so, at which point I'd want a PS2 and a GC.
I'm not even gonna start on XBox, never gonna own one. I'll just stick to PC.

I would go for GC because I think it looks good. Also it is nice and small, and it has a handle so you can take it with you. i think the games are good too. i like Super Smash Bros Melee it looks so good with all those graphics.

I voted for PS2 simply because I'm so satisfied with mine. But, the Gamecube is interesting. If the PS2 ever stops its seemingly never ending flow of great games, I might pick a GC up.

game cube .. i like super smash brothers ... and i liked the rouge sqaudron demos ... omn the demo cd .. and they were fun and awesome .. game cube all the way :)

Lets put it this way. I've owned my fair share of consoles.

Bought a Dreamcast on release day. I sold it a couple months later to buy a PS2 on relase day.

Kept the PS2 for a couple months, but couldn't find any games I really liked. I played more PS1 games on it than anything. Sold my PS2 for a lot more than I paid for it a month after X-mas last year.

I've only had a PS-One and SNES for the last few months. Though I did pick up a Dreamcast again last weekend at Toys R Us with the new price break.

I would have to say that I would probably buy a X-Box instead of a GC. So far the GC looks good, but the games are geared more towards the younger generation.

the xbox uses a P3 not a celeron and the gamecube uses a powerPC chip and a graphics chip froma PC as well. no diff than whats in the xbox other than it being slower same witha PS2 it uses computer tech also. if u look under the hood of each major console what u see is a PC cpu, a PC graphics chip, and a motherboard that has little difference from one u see in a PC. the PS2 chip is basically a PC cpu made by sony the equivelent of a P2 serries from intel. so i think its funny as hell and extremely childish of someone saying they wont get a xbox cuz it has microsoft name on it. lol ( that is laughing at u not with u )

I thought they always called it an "Intel 700mhz" in the marketing because it was a "new" chip and more of a go-between than a Celeron or a Pentium 3.
