Our very own Tecil has just written a great review (http://www.opentechsupport.net/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=18) of the new game, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Here's an excerpt:

"Most FPS games are merely Quake clones, where you find yourself hunting for this key to open that door, to throw this switch, to open another door. There is not a lot of thought process involved. MOH is much different than your standard FPS. Sure it has the usual heath and ammo pickups, but the missions have a completely different approach to them."

If you're looking for a new game to play this month, then this review will help you make up your mind. Read it now! (http://www.opentechsupport.net/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=18)

The graphics do not look very impressive, especially after seeing what the Q3 engine can do with RTCW.

Looks like we went head to head with FiringSquad (http://firingsquad.gamers.com/games/mohaa/) on the review.

hmmmn ..... Well Wolf is playing Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt , (right now), and lovin it! :D As far as the graphics go .... they are GREAT! Those allied airplanes dropping bombs on the city look kewl as HELL! and so do the cities, countryside, etc. etc. etc ;) At least they are not "generic graphics" like so many of the other recent games that have come out! :)

i dont think im seeing the same screenshots as everyone else the graphics are worse than those in the original halflife. this game looks like even has worse clipping problems than half life and Q2. dunno from what ive seen in the screens the graphics are less than impressive.

You guys must be playing the wrong game or something...

I'm playing MOHAA right now, with all the graphics cranked (Ahh the joys of a 1.4ghz system with a GF3 :D ), and overall it looks pretty damn good. There are some places where they could have used some added detail, but man it's sweet overall. And the sound is top notch.

Janna, you might have been looking at screens of one of the medal of honor games for the original playstation.

I must say though, the single player gameplay blows RTCW away. RTCW feels like quake with nazis. MOHAA feels like WW2.

JANNA ......

Even though the demo does not do this game "justice" .... download it and look, don't rely on screenshots. Wolf had Half-Life too and there is no comparasion! :D

Edit: Janna ..... Wolf says to tell you he just took control of a TANK ..... and he is having a blast blowing the shit outta buildings! hehe :D He says to tell you ...... "Janna, GET THIS GAME! It is your kinda game!!" :p

Yeah I know.

I turned them down a couple notches to get a sense of what it would be like on the average users system. I normally play with full detail.

I can re-take some shots and post them over those that have the high detail enabled.

As for the graphics being crappy, the is not true at all. They graphics are awesome. The only clipping problem I saw was the nazi I capped on the toilet in the screenshot. I couldn't resist posting it even though it did show an instance of clipping.

I will re-post the screenshots at high rez tonight.

The game looks awesome, and I will probably pick it up this weekend.

There is quite a bit of clipping, but only when you shoot and kill someone. Their bodies will fall half into a building ect.

The tank scene was awesome. Best tank control ever implemented in a game. My only complaint is that you can only shoot the big gun. I would have loved a machine-gun to chew up pesky foot soldiers...something linked to my right mouse button would had done nicely. :)

I re-took the screenshots at high res with the details maxed so that we can get a better representation.

I'll keep that in mind next time I review.

I should have a review soon of Serious Sam The Second Encounter.
