No preference. It would be preferable if everyone brought cloth bags to the grocery and reused those each trip. But who am I kidding, nobody's going to do that, heh. :)

the major grocery chains in the area recycle the plastic ones, so i go with plastic now. before they did that, i usually asked for paper.

I like plastic although it's not good for the environment.

oh yes, this is an american thing, over here in the UK we don't get a choice, it's plastic or nothingm but lucky most of the stores here recomend re0using bags, and some even offer a reward for re-using bags :)

Paper. We double them up, reuse them until they are in tatters, and then recycle them. The paper bags are bigger.

I take whatever they use, usually plastic, but if I am running low on paper bags then I ask for paper.

I use plastic, because it is stronger.

Plastic... then i flush them so the baby penquins can have some fun too.....

Seriously tho, there isnt much of a paper movement here.... food for thought tho.

as long as the plastic can be recycled, its not that important to have paper too. but if theres no bag recycling, paper is better, since it comes from a renewable resource and is compostable.
