Our very own Kdr Kane has just written an excellent guide on how to determine and optimize performance on Windows 2000 workstations in a corporate environment. Not for the faint of heart, this in-depth guide carefully delves into the inner workings of using Windows 2000 Professional. Here is an excerpt:

"This article deals with workstation performance in Windows 2000 Professional. Server issues are only touched as they relate to the workstation. Servers are naturally assumed to follow best practices. Such practices include separating servers by function. For instance, Domain Controllers, File and Print Servers, and Application Servers should each run on their own server."

It's not your everyday guide, but it is definitely worth a look-see. Read the full article here (http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=6036).
