View Full Version : OpenGL
Can anyone tell me how to get OpenGL support on an older card? I have a Diamond Viper V330. This card uses the Riva-128 chipset. I had this card using OpenGL in Quake, Quake2 and Hexen2 on my old computer. I installed it in my new one and now I can't get GL support. I tried latest drivers from Diamond and they did not work. HELP PLEASE!

Hmmm, try these links:
http://www.nvidia.com/Products/OpenDrvDwn.nsf/windows
http://www.geforcefaq.com/detonator.shtml#9x
The first one is a direct link to nVidia's old driver page, while the second one is a general information page you may find useful. Let us know which one works for you, or if you have any further problems...

Chances are your video card only ever supported a specific subset of the open gl api. Just enough to run quake and quake 2. Don't expect newer games to run in open gl on that card, because it just doesn't support it. Newer games use the full range of opengl commands, which your card doesn't have hardware support for to begin with.
