I was browsing tweak files when I noticed a new utility called Ad-aware v4.51 (http://www.tweakfiles.com/misc/adaware.html). It's a utility that removes certain cookies that relay information about your system to somewhere.

Exactly what kind of information gets relayed? I used the utility and I seem to get a doubleclick spyware cookie from somewhere. Maybe a tech site even.

What I want to know is, exactly what kind of informtion can places get off of you from the use of these cookies?

There's a lot of information that get's disclosed when you access web sites, download files or just plain browse.
Steve Gibson of Gibson Research [http//www.grc.com] is the guru when it comes to security and data recovery. He has a section specifically addressing security concerns regarding spyware. He also recommends using Ad-aware. Check out his web site for further details.
