Just wanted to invite everyone who are interested in playing a really good MMORPG to check out Asheron's Call.
I currently have a level 13 Archer, a level 10 Mage, and a level 4 UA/Alchemist in the Thistledown server. I am still a little new to the game (two months), and I only play a lot during weekends, but it's been a blast.
Maybe any of you Dereth veterans would like to show me some good hunting spots? Or maybe share some of your "excess" armor? Hehehe http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/smile.gif

I used to be the same way but there's a few nice things about a pay to play service.
They update it every month and add new things.
Their servers are stable and hacking is a rarity if it happens at all.
The players are generally older or more mature. Since anyone isn't likely to pay to play a game unless they're into the game, it keeps the slap nuts from playing the game and messing it up for everyone...hehe
You're in a world with around 1000-2000 other people. It adds to the realism IMO. No joining different games all the time with only 4 people in it.
Of course it has its share of bad points too. I mean you have to be somewhat dedicated to get anywhere in the game. And any less playing you do would make it not worth the 10$ a month to play it.

Hehehe, I play Asheron's Call a total of three hours on weekdays and 12 hours every weekends. I don't play often enough to get my character into some really serious levels, and most of the people I know are already level 35+ ... except maybe Pers, who usually restarts his characters daily, hehe. Anyway, I think the game is pretty much worth $10 a month ... it's much cheaper than having to buy a couple new games every month, and then shelf them after I beat them ...
If a game has no ending (like Asheron's Call, and other MMORPG), then it's pretty much unlimited gameplay for your dollar http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/smile.gif

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
