Today I started Diablo II in Direct Draw. I cast 20 blizzards at my feet and got 22 fps. I then repeated this but in Direct 3D. I got 4 fps.

Can anyone PLEASE help me with my poor performance in Direct 3D?

I have a:
Pentium 3 450MHz
128MB RAM
TNT2

I am desperate to get the vastly improved graphics of Direct 3D at a decent framerate.

Please reply soon.

A lot of users have the same problems with the TNT and TNT2 cards. I also have to run in DirectDraw on my second system with a TNT2 card. You might try toning down some of the 3D effects in the DIablo 2 video options menu.

If you're using a newer driver, or a really old one, you might try the NVidia 5.22 Refrence driver. It seems to perform the best with TNT(2) cards. The newer detonator 3's actually decrease performance on these cards. NVidia 5.22 Driver (http://zoiah.m3dzone.com/files/detonator/W9x/W9x-522.zip) - Windows 9x
