I have a small problem here with my D2... When I start the game, the Blizzard icon shows up, everythings ok, soon I'll be playing.
When I have clicked past those icons, the d2 music starts, but I see nothing. The menue works, as I can click esc, and exit. But my screen is blank.
I've tried to stay calm, but soon I'm going berserk!!!

Did you install DirectX 7 first? It's on the Diablo II CD if you need it. You can also download DirectX 7.0a from here.. www.microsoft.com/directx/?RLD=51 (http://www.microsoft.com/directx/?RLD=51)
If you're using a CDRW drive or one of the new CD-ROM's that use the multibeam technology like the Kenwood CD-ROM drives, check for a firmware update for your CD-ROM drive model.
Update your video and sound card drivers.
Post back with your system specs if you're still having trouble and we can help you further.

1. Yes, I have DirectX 7
2. No, I haven't any new technology at all...
3. It might be my Vodoo 1 card that is the problem... I told myself that I should get a new video card...
The files for the video card are those that were on the Windows ME upgrade disc, so I suppose they're the right files.
By the way, I don't like that my post count is back to 1... I had close to 100 before http://216.97.27.218/forums/frown.gif

Update:
In som wierd way I managed to start a Sorceress (not the class I wanted), and everything works normal. Everything except the starting menu.
Can you tell me how the menu look like (I've forgotten)? If I know that, I can acces Diablo untill I can get this fixed.

Here's some things that might help with video.
Disable video and BIOS shadowing and caching in your CMOS.
Update your chipset drivers if you have a non-Intel chipset.
Try manually selecting your refresh rate under the advanced properties tab for Display options. A refresh rate of 75Hz. is a good setting and might fix the glitch. Make sure your monitor supports that refresh rate however if you run your desktop at 1024X768 or higher. If the monitor is new, i'd almost guarantee it can handle it unless it's a 15" monitor. The optimal setting which is usually the default can be flakey. 75Hz is a good setting for the naked eye to handle.
Try setting your desktop to 640X480 before running D2. Maybe if DirectX doesn't have to change reolutions prior to loading D2, it might keep that screen from going blank.
A few longshots here but in the wacky world of computers, anything is possible. The Refresh Rate and disabling video and BIOS caching has fixed problems for me in the past before.

I had the same problem with my Starcraft game. Clean your cd or something.
