I was playing d2 when out of knowhere, i got this error message:

tgshell

Tgshell has created an error in kernel32.dll
Tgshell will now close.

Choices: close or debug. I chose debug and it did nothing, closing the message did NOT change anything (i.e. close d2). Im running a P3 @ 450, 256k, 6g hd, WinME, and Nortons speedisk, optimazation, fine tune, win doc, and virus is run once a week. I have about 40 something files in quarantine from a possible virus, im thinkin this may have somethin to do with it. But maybe someone has seen this before? thanx in advance.

First, have you run NDD on your system? Speeddisk will not detect problems, only optimize it.

Several things can cause this error. But first, try closing down all extra programs before starting. Reboot your system, after windows comes back up, close as many programs as possible, then do Control+alt+del and Endtask on everything EXCEPT systray and Explorer. Then try the game. If the error reoccurs, then post back.

Another thing that can cause this problem is corrupted files (compare file sizes of game files and window file to another system. This is a time consuming task, but if you find a file that is much smaller in size, that could be what is causing all the troubles).

Post back with what you have tried. Updating the drivers for Video and Sound would be a good thing to do as well.

Good Luck!!!!
