Metal Gear Solid to Gamecube
Various online reports are suggesting that, during an interview in Italy, Miyamoto has revealed a Nintendo and Konami collaboration to bring its Metal Gear Solid franchise to the GameCube.
IGN placed calls to Nintendo and Konami today, but received no comment before our publish deadline. We'll be investigating the rumor and reporting back very soon with our findings
Picked that up from IGN...
Sounds intersting... Metal Gear on Gamecube. I'd be surprised to see Konami do it seeing as how 3rd party developers havent been too keen on the Gamecube.
Who knows. If a new metal gear game comes to Gamecube, I'll buy it.

Most likely it will be a port of substance or the next one from PS2, as thats what Konami does usually.

Yeah, thats my guess too.
A port of MGS2 would be semi-disappointing, seeing as how the game is fairly old already and anyone who has wanted to play it.. probably has. But, if MGS3 or whatever is next made its way on to Gamecube at the same time as or shortly following a PS2 release, I'd be all over that.

A MGS1 remake would be cool.

I dunno man, I'd kill to have MGS1 redone with MGS2 quality graphics.

Earlier this week unsubstantiated online reports surfaced which suggested that publisher Konami Entertainment was in development with a Metal Gear Solid title for Nintendo's next-generation console.
Today Konami Japan confirmed the news.
The company's Japanese public relations representative Scott Dolph told Bloomberg this morning that while a Metal Gear Solid game is scheduled for GameCube, no release date has been set. No further details were offered.
Konami USA's website, in official message board postings, has recently hinted that the publisher would show off some of its bigger franchises for GameCube at the Electronics Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles this May. It's highly possible with that in mind that Metal Gear Solid for GameCube will debut at the event.
Ign delivers the news again...
When they say bigger franchies... I wonder if the upcoming Castlevania will me making its way over to Gamecube.
That would be cool

It'll be cool if it doesn't end up like castlevania 64.

I could see a MGS 1 remake being very nice, but having a graphical style of MGS2 would be lame. MGS 1 has a style all of its own, and needs graphics that match the style of the game. Cel shading would be cool. Like ZOE2, maybe?
I wouldn't mind seeing a side-story game exclusive to Gamecube too. I mean, I need more of a reason to buy a Gamecube than Metroid, Zelda and Resident Evil. I really wouldn't mind having one.
