ps2 controller connector

I accidentally spilled a drop of water on the top part of the connector that goes into the port of the machine. Descibing it: if you look at it from the top view, youll see three tiny holes in the shaoe of rectangles. the middle one looks metal. Is that part of the controller part of the connection besides the needles inside of the connector? Would spilling a drop on the top part damage it?

Re: ps2 controller connector

Was the controller in use when you spilled it? If it was unplugged and you just spilled a drop, leave it out for a few hours to make sure it dries completly, then it should be fine.
