Whoa, the prices on their website for UPC's is double and then some than stores like staples and officemax. I put an order together for a 500VA UPS and it came to $45 total after the 50% off coupon, then a big fat $15 for tax and shipping was thrown on it, bringing it to $60.

I have a Belkin UPS and it sucks ass. Only half the time does it prevent a reboot of the system on a power outage. Even with the monitor turned off.

The Nostromo n50 gamepad is awsome though.

dont forget to add the wattage of all your devices that you want to be up. 500VA = 300W. if youre running a full load on your computer power supply, 500VA wont be sufficient to cover both the monitor and the computer, much less anything else you want to run.

if youre running a power hungry comp, youll want a 650VA or more. and any UPS that costs under $100 is really a pos. well, except for those of you living in so cal, where the power never goes out

ive got a 400VA ups that i bought over 5 years ago for $150. it still works quite well. and it gets used almost daily. ( the joys of ohio weather) you get what you pay for.

It's rated 650 same as the APC. The APC never misses a beat.

I ended up ordering a PC tool kit, DSS Surgemaster II(was on sale for about 50% off, 1836 Joule surge, cable/phone protection) and an 8 Outlet Surgemaster II(1214 Joule surge and phone protection). $58.78 total, discount was $43. I didnt buy the UPS because there was no point in paying all the extra for it when I could get the same one cheaper from another place. I kinda want an APC brand UPS anyways.

I saved 75% on that DSS Surgemaster, lol. Good thing I atteneded MacWorld
