Deal of the Century

Officemax is having an unadvertised special(possibly a closeout) on a APC 1000VA(600watts) UPS. Regular price is $129.99, special price is $29.99. Their very limited supply at each store, so if you need one, go immidiately tomorrow and hope for the best. I got the last one in my area. The price will not be marked on the isle or the box, only in the computer. So get it price checked first, some of the stores might not have the special, although they should. I called a guy over to pricecheck it for me and when he got the price, his eyes were big and was like 'wow, good deal'. The girl at the register went quite crazy too.

There is also a $10 off $30 officemax coupon floating around from the past week or 2 in one of their sale papers that can be used with this. I couldnt find one though.

It's a big battery to power your computer when the power goes out.

it is a closeout, i got one a few months back from staples for under $100. a 1000va ups goes for well over 200, if you can even find one.

Ive needed one of these for a long time too. Those 500va ones are always one sale, but thats just not enough power for what Ive got. Wish I had one of these durring that summer with the power crisis. That was a bitch.

one of the better 500s probably would do ya for a few minutes. would work fine as a power conditioner and surge protector. im still running on my old 400, and i get a good 15-20 min out of it.

I'm assuming this thing is shielded, or it doesn't have many magnets, right?

My last one was small, and I could stick it in one of the slots on the top of my desk where letters are supposed to go, however, this thing is just massive compared to my last, and the one place I can put it is less then a foot away from my case.

This is the heavy duty bad boy. This isnt one of those cheapo little ones. Its massive and its heavy. Its nearly as big as my PC tower. It should be magnetically shielded.

Redwench, did you get one of these on this deal too?

Im thinking about going to another officemax thats about 40 mins from here and see if they have any. These will easily go on ebay for $100.

Do what I did, call them, and if they have one, ask them to hold it back for you.

The office max site has a store locater, and it tells you the phone numbers of each store, so...
