BenQ DvD R

Had a BenQ DvD burner, it broke within 6 months of having it, they dont cover it, cant get a replacement. Threw it out. Later I discovered that the porblem I was having was software not hardware, so I threw out a perfectly fine DvD R. I attribute my loss to BenQ since their tech person assured me that the Hardware was dead. In short dont deal with theives such as BenQ. Also keep "bad" hardware around if you cant exchange it. You never know if it isnt reallllllly bad.

Re: BenQ DvD R

Why didn't you just bring it back to the store?

Also, it's close to impossible to tell if a burner is dead if you don't reinstall windows or (preferably) try it in another pc first. But you probably already know that by now.

Re: BenQ DvD R

I bought it from Tigerdirect.com, and to return items to them you must have a RMA, and BenQ does not issue RMA post warranty.

Yeah, I learned this the hardway.

Re: BenQ DvD R

Post warranty? Isn't the warranty at least a year?
