UPS's service

I have had two bad experiences from UPS. Twice they have lost my packages. Also, they will leave the product sitting on your doorstep if no one answers the door. One time when I ordered a tower it said "Personal Computer" across the front of it. I'm on the third busiest street in my town. That screams steal me. Another time I ordered a 22" monitor. Obviously it read the same thing across the front of it. Haha.

Also, the downfall with ordering things online is that you have to complain to those you ordered it from. UPS doesn't want to hear from you, because technically you didn't pay them to ship the product. If you're like me, you hate to have to yell at someone who's not at fault just so you get what you want.

Anyways, I go FedEx from now on. Even if NewEgg is offering free shipping through UPS.

(And yes, I went with FedEx on my most recent build.)

fed ex does that too. they both require signatures on file to do so, however. so at some point, you put your signature on file with them. just ask the retailer to require a signature for delivery, pretty easy to solve.

Re: UPS's service

I've never signed for a UPS package. I've done it for FedEx. And have had to do that with FedEx every single time they've delivered something.

Re: UPS's service

The UPS in your area is way different than my area. UPS always ask for a signature of the package they are delivering to my house. I'm from Massachusetts. Kind of weird that they don't ask for signatures in your area. My experience with fed ex is quick service and reliability.

Re: UPS's service

It's even worse if you live in a multi-family apartment complex or house. Then they don't even bother looking for an apartment number or checking to see if the door they are knocking on is to more than 1 apartment. I've had notes left for me by UPS on a door that leads to 4 apartments because the UPS man assumed that a door to a hallway was for a single apartment. He doesn't bother LOOKING. I have never had a problem with FedEx, but UPS has lost a couple packages or even returned them as undeliverable.

Re: UPS's service

Never had a real problem with UPS, but FedEx delivereds something to me one time, they left it on the neighbors patio....the patio was 100 yards from thier house and wide open....

The UPS guy in the area knows me and my family so well from having to deliver computer parts, that he has both our cell numbers in his phone and calls to let us know about what time he is going to be thier, or if we are in his area we will meet him.

Re: UPS's service

Recently I went with FEDEX, for a purchase on newegg and I HATED IT. They had lost track of my order for over a week. Also they had 'supposably' came to my house 3 times. It so had happened that my neighbors had got the package. -__-' From now on I will choose UPS FTW!! Better reliability and tracking.. WOOTS

UPS lost a package of mine 3 months before the place I ordered it from acknowledged that it had even tried to ship it and then refused to let me file a claim for the lost goods because of the amount of time that passed.

By the way, the US Postal Service hasn't lost anything on me yet. Neither UPS nor FedEx can claim THAT!

Re: UPS's service

none of them have ever lost anything of mine, and its a rare occurence anyway. USPS has damaged items sent to me however.

Re: UPS's service

Whenever I ship anything via USPS I always get the insurance. Even when I'm shipping returns to NewEgg.

I've also experienced better customer service from FedEx. I suppose it would help if the local UPS guy knew me, but that's not the case. Even though I know a few of the guys who work for UPS (they just move boxes).

Re: UPS's service

I'll never forget when United States Postal Service delivered me a large t-shirt in my half foot mailbox. I was expecting the shirt to come to the door or at least put in the LARGE PACKAGE box. No, instead it was crammed into my TINY letter mail box so that when I opened it, the shirt looked like aluminum foil that has been used for 5 months. Had to iron it just to wear it without looking like an idiot. At least it wasn't a video card haha.

Re: UPS's service

I wave at my UPS guy when he drives by, never had a problem! Next time, chat it up with the guy and get to know him. Your package will arrive correctly. What I like about UPS is its the same guy for a certain area. With USPS they are always switching up your mail person so there's no way for your USPS guy to "know" you.
