Shaggy, Dell is the best. It is good and cheap. I recently customized a system that quadroppled my other one for a low price of 900. Whos complaining about Dell?

Hey Dell is fine.... if you like that kinda thing.

But if you want a GOOD system... go to your LOCAL computer dealer and custom build one.

I have a Dell xpst-600 P3 desktop and I have had a few problems with it. The Geforce graphics card quit after a few months and they kept trying to blame my games even though it wouldn't run the Nvidia demos. It would lock up on open GL 3 d graphics. I spent a couple weeks trying all the software fixes, drivers, reloading windows etc. They finally sent a guy out to replace it and it has worked fine since. Now my dvd won't read CDRs and I keep e-mailing. They keep sending me stuff to try for my CDR drive even though I explained how it won't read any CDRs burned on any machine. It is like they see CDR and immediately paste in the canned solution. I think where I made the mistake was when I bought the computer it asks how comfortable you are working on it to assist tech support. I should have said I was a complete idiot and then they wouldn't ask me to try all this obscure and unrelated stuff to try and fix it. Anyway, They are starting to tick me off. That said, they probably make as good a desktop as anyone. Corporate "culture" is just not what it is cracked up to be.

Why do you hate dells so much you DO work for Dell dont you? shouldnt you be promoting dell instead of degrading it? Maybe you are just around Dells too often and get sick of them.. like the people that work in dunkin donuts--they are sick of donuts

Dells sux0r.
If you want a real machine, build it yourself. You'd be suprised how much cheaper it is in most ocassions. If you don't want to build it yourself, atleast get an alienware computer.
