Nintendo to offer special rebate with purchase of Metroid Prime

Talking Nintendo to offer special rebate with purchase of Metroid Prime

A report published today by MSNBC alleges that Nintendo may be planning to offer rebates to those who buy both a new GameCube and Metroid Prime. No details regarding the rebates or exactly how the offers would work have been released, and Nintendo of America has refused comment.

Interesting. The article goes on to say that the rebate is most likely going to coincide with Nintendo's release of a platinum colored system in an attempt to get some older gamers to pick up a Gamecube. Who knows, it could work...

Good question.

Edit: <NullActor> Spider because I don't want to buy a GC for metroid, but nintendo is making it VERY hard for me to resist.

Its just a matter of time before Sony does their 3 game+Memcard deal for $199. Xbox is going to start doing a pack with 2 Sega games(JSRF and some other one) for $199 pretty soon, if not already. I probably shoulda waited to get a GC. Ive only bought one game, coulda saved some money. Nintendo is gonna put Mario Sunshine in with GC's for $149.

I went to the Circuit city in my area the other day, and they were unloading the PS2's off the truck while I was there and was putting them out. It seemed like they had a lot, so I asked how many they got and he said "66". I went back 2 days later, there were 4 left. Sweet lord.

Do those deals include the console itself?

Probably. But the 'three games' will probably be limited to a shitty selection of crappy sports games.

A correction:

The super mario sunshine pack will include the system, the game super mario sunshine and a 59 block memory card and it will cost $189.95

That'd be a smart move for Sony. A lot of people buy consoles just to buy sports games.

I wouldn't though.

Neither would I, but if they let us choose any 3 games from an assorted selection of non-new releases I'll be all over that shit.
