Danish software pirates sentenced to prison for selling 900,000 pirated CDs
Three Danes were sentenced to prison sentences of between three months and one year for producing 900,000 CDs with pirated software and games and selling them in Denmark, a Copenhagen court said.
The software was illegally copied from Microsoft, Adobe, Micromedia and other mass producers and the illegal sale caused them an estimated 3.4 billion Danish kroner (457 million euros) in lost earnings, according to the prosecution.
