Blizzard unveils Warcraft III Collector's Edition

In the tradition od exclusive package releases begun with Diablo II, Blizzard has announced that they will be releasing a Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos Collector's Edition.

This special edition will contain the following:
  • The Art of Warcraft coffee table book featuring rare and never-before-seen images from the Warcraft universe.
  • The official Warcraft III Cinematic DVD including complete Warcraft III in-game cinematics, digitally remastered in widescreen format for television viewing.
  • Warcraft III Soundtrack CD
  • Commemorative Collector's Edition Manual
  • Four Limited Edition 8 x 10 Prints
The Warcraft III Collector's Edition will only be available at select retail outlets in very limited quantities, and will be sold during the first half of 2002 - also mentioned to be the official release of the Warcraft III game itself.

Sounds good. I'll probably buy it just for the cinematic sequences and the soundtrack. What do you think?

Full details can be found here.

If the Diablo II Collector's Edition price is used as a guide, probably between $60-$70 ... maybe more if the contents are high quality...

I've got both the StarCraft/BroodWar and Diablo II Cinematic DVDs, and based on the quality of those 2, I would definitely include the WC3 Collector's Edition in my list mainly coz of the DVD ... it's probably gonna be the best work yet from Blizzard...

If the single player campaigns are as rich as StarCraft/BroodWar, then it would probably not be a total loss to buy the collector's edition after all
