Got a Home Theater SetUp
So I finally got my home theater set-up. Here's what I got:
Samsung 40" 1080p LCD LNT-4066F
Klipsch Quintet III Speakers
Klipsch 10" Synergy Subwoofer
Yamaha RX-V461
Sony BluRay BDP-S300
Logitech Harmony 670
The funniest part was my friends at work gave me crap because all this stuff was loaded onto a cart with 1000 Series Monster Cables and everything, then on top was a Playstation 2. They gave me crap because I didn't get a PS3. Well, my reasoning was that the PS3 doesn't upconvert, and is not fully backwards compatible. I have a ton of PS2 games and standard DVDs, so doing the PS2 and a BluRay was more worth it for me.
Anyways, I also hooked up my computer to it. It looks very nice, but my room's in a complete disarray. I have packaging pieces and wire clippings from the speaker wire. Haha. I'm not gonna clean it up until tomorrow. But I'm very happy with everything. My standard DVDs look amazing. I tested it with an old copy of Spawn, so if that movie can look great, anything can. My only complaint is that I don't have HD cable yet. But I have an antennae hooked up that pulls in over 30 channels. So I can't complain too much.
All together, with cables and such, it cost me only $3,000. Gotta love that employee discount.

HD upconverts standard DVD. Might be worth a look since HD standard is getting killed and you can get the play for cheap right now.

Re: Got a Home Theater SetUp
It's all set-up currently, but is still in disarray. I didn't want to bother with the HD-DVD, since it is worthless technology. The only reason to get it right now would be if you got it with a TV from Best Buy with the HD Advantage (since it would basically be a good upconvert for $50). Since I used my discount, I don't qualify for those extra deals.
Don't feel bad Shady, I have such a nice set-up only because of my employee discount, and financing from Best Buy. But at least now when customers ask me what I have at home I can actually point something out instead of saying, "Umm... a 36" tube." Haha.

Re: Got a Home Theater SetUp
I ran this system for a while
It sounded pretty good, I sold it to a friend though, I am building a new set that will be, well....amazing. Been into the audio hobby a lot lately, not so much the PC's, building home theater subs and speakers, I have been exceptionally pleased with the results. I also have been through a few projectors, sold them off too, I will be going to the full 1080p next time, no more standard or 720p.
