newbie problem

Hello to all,
I am from the UK and as you may guess from being here have a comp problem!
I came across this forum through a google search to fix my problem.
Basically..
my homepage is hijacked continually by something called "about blank" something to do with cool web search whatever that is! I have tried ad aware and spybot and regedit to no avail so far and was hoping (really hoping!) you guys may offer some tips to lose the bug or whatever it is that is annoying the heck out of me.
Apologies if this q is in the wrong place i'm totally new to this!

if you download the microsoft anitspyware software it can reset it

I got that a awile ago. I just used spybot and it got rid of it.

about:blank can be tough. go to Iamnotageek.com and they can help get rid of anything
