New Logitech MX700 mouse is awsome!
I decided to spend the money on a new mouse the other night, and am so pleased with it I wanted to share it with all who may be looking for a excellent wireless mouse, or new mouse in general.
I had came accross this review the other day, http://www.earthv.com/articles.asp?ArticleID=703
after that I was very intrieged.
Although I wouldn't have been if I hadn't used a friends Logitech mouse on his system. I was surprised at how it felt like a corded mouse when compared to the sluggish wireless Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer.
My favorite games tend to be first person shooters, and this mouse is awsome for it.
There is no noticable mouse lag, and that is one point that I find repeatedly lacking in mouse reviews.
If your a Microsoft mouse user, then beware, the software is different with the Logitech mouse.
But I think it's a acceptable learning curve.
The downside, it isn't cheap, $80 at Best Buy, $65 +S/H at Buy.com.
This mouse will probably be on my desk for a long time.
Good hardware should not go un-noticed, especially by us who use our computers alot.
I will amend with anything that comes up / changes.

I've never been much of a fan of cordless mice (mouses?). Like you said, most of the ones I have tried felt sluggish. And I'm not big into changing batteries, either.
The best mouse I've ever used is an Intellimouse v3. Kicks all sorts of ass when I set the two side buttons to copy and paste.
(The Star Wars mouse pad makes it even cooler)

That's actually the exact mouse I was using before I got this one.
It was oodles better than the original IntelliMouse Explorer, but I love not having a cord getting in the way of my mousing.
And the rechargable feature is just awsome.
The latest crop of wireless mice have required you to use alkaline batteries, (well, I shouldn't say you had too, but if you did use recharable's you'd have to pull them out and swap em'), otherwise, if they go dead and you don't have new batteries, your out of luck.
This one you just drop in the craddle every night and you're fresh in the morning.
I can honestly say, this mouse is a tad smoother than the Intelli 3.0, at-least on my system. And just as responsive.

How about a microwave powered mouse? You might get cancer but hey! you wont ever have to change those pesky batteries.

Out of curiosity, how long, continously, can you use the mouse before the batteries need to be recharged?
I was thinking a Solar powered mouse would work better.

[Oops, tkron, you replied while I was repling.]
Well, I've only had the mouse two days and they've not failed me yet.
But, I took the reviewer's advice and droped the Energizer 1700 mAH batteries in it.
Having the mouse go dead is the last thing I wanted to have happen.
The problem with Solor power is your hand is always on top of the mouse, so it would never see light, and since most people don't use their mice at night... I don't think it would work to good.
Hmmm... maybe a kenetic mouse... ???
Um, to the person with the microwave idea... you don't have to pull the batteries out of this mouse, that's the whole point.

So, I'm not sure. Sorry.

12 hours isn't long enough.
Some of us freaks spend all of 18+ hours a day infront of a computer (I have no social life, my job requires me to sit infront of a computer, be it sleeping or otherwise, and I'm not married.)
I expect to have some sort of brain or eye cancer, or maybe even a third eye, from all of this in a few years.
EDIT:
My IntelliMouse Explorer is near dead. Microsoft still have a 3 year warrenty on thier new mice, right? I mite just pick up an intelimouse v3.

I have a cordless and the batteries seem to last quite some time (replace 3 times a year?), but the thing is they don't just die they fade. If you are lazy or cheap (I'm both), you can move the mouse speed bar higher. lol

Well, I still can't say to how long the mouse will last "continiously", but I started using it yesterday at about 1:00 PM here, and I decided to leave it off of the charger over night just to see if it would even work in the morning.
It still is, though of-course it was just sitting there.
I'll post back with the time it stops working.
This paticular Logitech mouse comes with a 5 year limited warranty.

It's still working, going on what... 28 hours since it was last on the charger.
I have no idea where I got the whole 12 hour thing from. :?
