Northbridge Cooling

What size fans will fit on a northbridge? I cant measure it because not enough room to fit a ruler in there. Mine runs cool already, but I would like to have some more cooling, especially since it will look cool with my new window mod(To be finished soon ).

I have a Heatsink on the northbridge already, would it be possible to somehow put a fan on it or would it have to be have a different heatsink? I would probably end up getting a thermaltake fan, one with lights if possible.

just check out the fan section on any hardware site. if its halfway decent at all, it will tell you in the little blurb beneath the product. it will say something like : fits socket 478 northbridge or whatever it is youre looking for. but yes, youll probably need to buy a heatsink/fan combo.

It'll be a 40cm one. You could possibly be able to screw the fan into the spaces on the heatsink like I did. That's how most of them are anyway. However the only real reason to have a northbridge with a fan is if you're overclocking into extreme FSB speeds.

But really, a northbridge fan with lights? That's overkill man.

If you're looking into getting a whole new chipset cooler, I can look into recommendations for you.
