Logitech optical mouse not responding immediately

Bought some stuff from NewEgg.com this week and the shipment got here today. One of the pieces was this mouse: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...=BROWSE&depa=1 -- just your ordinary cheapo optical.

I have this same mouse at work, except in the USB version and it works great. However, at home there are times that it seems to not pick up movement for atleast a half second normally after it has been stationary, even just breifly.

I have updated the drivers and the mouse looks fine cosmetically. Aside from getting a different mouse pad or picking up one of the ps2->USB adapters from work, what else can I try?

Sounds to me like it's a bad mouse, try calling up the manufacturer and asking for a replacement.

Hmmm, took it to work and its working fine. Brought the USB one from work home and its working fine (thus far) ... I suppose that leaves a bad PS2 port to blame, but yet I had 0 trouble with it on my former ball mouse.
