Tried to find an answer from the book called 'Upgrading and repairing PCs',but it didn't really give an answer. According the web http://www.ddrmemoryram.com/system_ram_issues.html it would look not posible. PC3200 is used with P4 PCs. Your motherboard is PII and PIII type.

If it has DDR, then you shouldn't have a problem. If it's a SDRam board only, then you have to buy some SDram, not DDR. If it's a dual "ram" board, with both SDRam, and DDR slots, then you can only run one type at a time, which the PC3200 DDR would work fine in the DDR slots. Find out what motherboard you have, or brand and model of computer, and I can give you a more reliable answer whether it can work together or not.

Looks like you've got SDRam. Don't buy any PC3200, it wouldn't be able to use it. You're going to have to by SDRam PC100 or PC133, since the board does not support DDR ram. I can't be totally sure, but you may have to by "compaq" memory. As alot of compaq motherboards from that time period could only be upgrade by thier "Special" memory.

If I were you, I'd give compaq's technical support a call, and see if you "have" to use thier memory modules. If you do not have to, go to a local computer store, and you could probably pick up a pair of 256mb PC100 dimms for relatively cheap. If so, I'm not sure how much you'd have to pay, but only thier memory will work (unless you find some aftermarket ram made for that model).
