Angry Dial-up Problems

I have BCM V.92 56K Modem and am having problems connecting at speeds higher than 31.2K. The latest driver is 3.5.25.0, installed 8/27/2003. I have checked all my settings per SW Bell; but nothing seems to help. Is there a later driver available or is it just a cheap modem, dial-up problem, etc.? I live in the country and use SW Bell as my ISP and only dial-up is available in my area. Please advise. THANX!!!

Re: Dial-up Problems

Most slowdowns on dialups is due to bad and old telephone lines. And the ongoing traffic on the telephone line(s) you use for the moment.

I also live in the countryside. (In Southern Sweden) And those of my friends that have dialups here, have the same problem.

But you could try this:

Go: Start + Run.

In Run, type, msconfig

Click the tab "Services" and disable " Qos RSVP" This will often give you some better speed. That is if you run Windows XP?
