iPod Configuration

Hi all,

I've recently bought a new computer and am having trouble getting it to recognize my iPod when I connect them together.

As you are all well aware, one has to reinstall the iTunes/iPod software onto the new system and the installation goes fine except for when it tries to configure my iPod. It's simply not recognizing that it's plugged in.

I sincerely doubt this is the case but might it have something to do with my iPod being bought in the US and my computer being from the UK. Again, as you are probably aware, DVDs are sectioned into regions. This won't be the case for my iPod will it? My old laptop was bought in the US and worked fine FYI.

Any suggestions for fixing this problem?

Thanks!

Do you mean that connecting the iPod to the old US laptop worked fine? In that case it probably is something to do with the UK software, but don't know.

DICLAIMER: These are just ideas...

I do know that there is an iPod updater driver that you can probably download from apple.com but not 100% sure of the name. if you have you music library safetly saved on HD or on computer, try transfering them to a new folder somewhere else other than iTunes folder, erase iTunes folder compleatly, then reinstal iTunes. There might be a link on iTunes for a UK version, dunno. Then do a reset of your iPod (WARNING: this will wipe all songs from iPod!). Then try a link.
