Re: BIOS setting wrong?

Normally, bios takes care about the selection between SATA and IDE devices itself. But you can always give it a try to select SATA instead and see if you notice any difference at all?

Re: BIOS setting wrong?

Ok I think I will give this a go I would change it to AHCI right? Would this cause any damage?

Do I need to install the SATA Drivers if I do this?

Re: BIOS setting wrong?

Come to think about it. Dont do anything, unless you have performance problems with the SATA hdd? Changing that setting to "SATA" may stop the IDE devices you have as the cd or dvd drive to stop working.

Re: BIOS setting wrong?

I have'nt needed to get any SATA driver for any of my Gigabyte mobo's. So I doubt you will need this. But you very likely will get a message if you still need the driver. No, SATA drivers wont do any damage.

Just change that setting marked in the screenie you provided from IDE to SATA.
