Tweak my I7 build.

Looking to build a PC.
It will mostly be for gaming.
My budget is preferably under 1500 to stay reasonable.
I am located in Ohio.
I am willing to buy online.
Will be using no parts from previous build.
I don't need any peripherals but i'm shopping for a monitor that would not be part of the pc's budget.
I haven't bought any parts yet.

I could use some help tweaking my choices so far on these components.

1. Tower. Something very spacious and open with room for plenty of cooling and upgrades. Must be able to handle the monster sized video cards.
2. Power Supply. Enough power to get me through another video card upgrade(hopefully).
3. Motherboard/Processor. Quad or I7 preferably. (any thoughts on after market heat sinks/fan?)
4. Memory. A decent amount that is compatible with the MB etc.
5. Video card. ATI or Nvidia that can handle graphic intensive games. Hopefully under $300.
6. Monitor. A wide screen LCD with lots of bang for the buck.

My build so far with these guidelines.

Tower http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119160
PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817379007
MB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128374
RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227381
GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150360
HD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136319
Monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824112011

What i could really use help with would be suggestions on small to moderate upgrades to what i have picked that would be really worthwhile.

Thanks in advance to any and all help. I hopefully can get everything and have it all work and be compatible and be 100% satisfied with some advice.

Re: Tweak my I7 build.

Hi!

Most of the stuff looks nice.

As for cpu:

Or if the abouve are too exspensive? This can be easily overclocked to over 3Ghz speed.

A couple of "but" about what you have picked. 6 gb of RAM is'nt nessisairy really. You will manage very well on 4 gb of RAM.

Zalman, makes nice psu's but there are other brands that are a bit cheaper that are just as good or better.

Do you really want that Radeon?

The ATI reference cooler allready had serious problems cooling the stock HD 4850 and HD 4870. That's why many Radeon manufacturers later on came out with a second version with heatpipe coolers and 80mm fans. Such a factory overclocked card as that XFX Radeon just spells temperature disaster. I wanna add that the NVidia refence cooler are'nt much better either. Then, you have the silly noise levels on the reference coolers when beeing cranked up. You really wont like listen to a small hair drier when playing a game or watching a movie. But no wonder the referece cooler are noisy. An about 50mm ref. cooler fan must spin fast as h.ll to have any decent cooling ability at all.

And for the HD 4890 it will take quite some time before you will see any third party coolers.

This is a very good card too that have all the muscles you need + good cooling:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127429

This card have a minimum psu requirement of Minimum of a 550 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 40 Amps.) 600W and 44 Ampere on a SLI setup.

So a good 750W will still get you plenty of power headroom....like my Corsair TX 750W for ex lol.

You really dont need silly frame rates like 100 fps average with the quality setting maxed out. The human eye, can at it's best register fps differences up to 65 fps anyway.

Better getting a top 22" monitor than a mediocre 24" just because of the extra 2" in size, and one notch up in resloloution.

But if you still want a 24"?:

This is the best i7 cpu cooler if you want one?
