motherboard might be dead?

Hi...

i was wondering is there a way to find out if my motherboard is dead or not? i really dont want to take my pc apart to test the motherboard is there any other way i can check?

if your wondering why it might be dead is that, about a year ago my cousin dropped ice cream on my pc... ( i wanted to kill her ) i thought it was the motherboard got a new one and nothing then i got a psu and nothing then i got a gpu and then it worked so i dont know if it was all three or just the gpu... so i have an extra motherboard and psu..

thanks in advance

btw: when i get home I'll post what motherboard i have..

Re: motherboard might be dead?

Well, wanting to kill someone just because of this feels a bit extreme, but I understand the feeling.

Where exactly did she spill the ice cream and was the case open at the time?

Re: motherboard might be dead?

Well not kill her.. Lol just that I got the parts 3 months before dying.

well I was cleaning the pc and she came by and leaned over and it fell.. But it boots but nothing on the screen, so I think that the motherboard should be fine.. If it is I am going to build a media center, if its dead whole well..

I fixed the pc but I have a spare motherboard( the one that had ice cream on it) and a psu..

I thought so. I think that you need to clean out the remains of the ice cream with ethanol or something like that.
