DVD sound

Ok my DVD is played in my system, But when It plays the back ground sound is kinda loud , But the voices are very low I need to turn up to max Volume to even hear it at all.
I have uninstalled my drivers for sound and re-installed them again this works but as soon as I turn off the player or reboot the sound reverts to the as described above. Any help is appreciated.
This happen in both Windows media and Real one Players
Oh sorry If I stuck this in the wrong thread , I was not sure where to put it.

Re: DVD sound

I would also check the Windows Sound settings to make sure that it knows you only have stereo speakers and not a 5.1 system. It sounds like what happens for me when I try to watch a movie using the desktop speakers instead of my surround sound system.

-----------------------------
Desktop: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
CoolerMaster Centurion 534
Asus P5B Deluxe (w/ WiFi)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
4GB Corsair XMS2 PC2 6400
300GB 10000 RPM VeolciRaptor
250GB 7200 RPM SATA Maxtor
2 x 1TB WD MyBooks
BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC 512MB
630w Corsair PSU

Laptop: HP dv6885se
