How much is enough?

I have been wondering about monitors and graphic cards. At this date, what is enough?

For me, I would feel satisfied with an 24" screen and a graphics card which is enough for this screen including suitable processor.

I read this review from AnandTech and wondered if a graphics card like this one is maybe too much for heavy gaming on a 24" screen. What do you think if we decide to focus entirerely on World of Warcraft and using graphic intense settings?

I'm used sitting with my old 19" CRT display where 1600x1200 is the highest possible resolution without getting flimmer in the display and won't be getting a 24" this year, but still it would be interesting to read your thoughts and opinions on this.

Re: How much is enough?

It's interesting to read that some actually get the Radeon 5850 or 5870 in order to get better fps for WoW. Found a discussion on Blizzards forum over here.

For me, if I get high fps with computer equipment which don't eat up my electricity bill I wouldn't mind spending some cash on better stuff in the future. I've had my nVidia Geforce7800GS for a couple of years now and it consumes less than half of what the latest and best video cards from ATi or nVidia does. The fact that they have worked on a low power consumption mode when the graphic card is in idle mode is more than interesting, though. It's a step in the right direction, in my opinion.
