newegg.com.. good??
I see that many people in this forum get their computer stuff from this website. It is really that good? I am going to buy a new computer soon, and I might be willing to buy from this site, as they have pretty cheap prices compared to the retail stores.
This is the first time I've heard about this website, can someone tell me more about them? like how reliable they are, how fast the shipping is, where they are located, etc...
Thanks~

Re: newegg.com.. good??
Only one word describes newegg. Amazing. I have purchased a ton of stuff from newegg, and I couldn't be happier. They have incredible serivce, and really fair pricing. Half of my computer has parts are from newegg. I would give them a 5 out of 5 stars. Buy away!
As for locations, I think they have them all over, but you don't need to worry about that, just give them your address and they will ship it to your doorstep in 3 days minimum.

Re: newegg.com.. good??
newegg and zipzoomfly are comparable online hardware retailers, with excellent customer service. afaik, they are in California. their addresses will be on their websites. they ship within 24 hours of payment receipt.

Re: newegg.com.. good??
Except for my DVD burner and an 88mm fan my entire system is made of components I bought from Newegg. I also bought my previous mobo and CPU from them. Once I have the money for it I plan to buy an Athlon 64 FX from them as well. Usually the shipments of the parts have been in less than 24 hours and they've arrived a day ahead of when the tracking number has said they'd arrive. This might be because I live on the opposite coast and have placed my orders in the morning - before their employees have even gotten up to go to work!

Yea, I bought all the parts in my comp from newegg. Delivery was great, and the stuff was cheaper than if I had bought it elsewhere.

Re: newegg.com.. good??
Newegg.com is a great site and I would definately recommend it. But I would also look at other sites before making an important purchase. I also use tigerdirect.com for some of my purchases. Since these two sites are compettitors, you can always find good deals on both.

Re: newegg.com.. good??
www.tigerdirect.com also has excellent combo deals if you want to get the mobo and CPU in one order. They also have some pretty outstanding weekly deals that come up now as their "home" page. If they had the searchability of Newegg, perhaps I would have bought more than just my DVD burner from them. I'm considering them for some future build if I decide to build more PCs for other people.
As for software, there appears to be no one place that has the best deals on everything. If you need an additional Windows XP license though, www.computersfromus.com appeared to have the best price. I just wish it hadn't taken a whole week plus a day for it to arrive. One good thing is that CFU tosses in free stuff most of the time. I got a new mouse to use with an old Pentium 2 that I needed. The one I had been using was from a 486dx and was having problems.

Re: newegg.com.. good??
Newegg is a pleasure to work with. Especially if you end up getting defective hardware. You don't even need to call them. You can get an RMA straight from their website. Very user friendly.
