Re: No Internet Connection

Assuming you are using a broadband connection, you can go to <control panel> <internet options> then click on the connections tab then on the button for LAN settings. Be sure everything is blank and then check the "automatically detect settings" box, OK and then OK again in the internet options thing. Then click start, programs, Windows Update. It may take a minute or two while the connection is detected properly. If it says something about checking your computer to see if you have the latest version of the update software then you have an internet connection. If not, maybe someone else will have additional suggestions along with me.

Re: No Internet Connection

When you got your internet service, did your ISP give you any software to install? Some ISPs require that you have a sort of authentication software installed.

Re: No Internet Connection

You might try checking your windows firewall setting. It may be conflicting somehow. Or disable it. You really don't need it if you're using a router.

Also, are you sure that's the right connector? 1394 is a firewire port. There are firewire networking devices but they aren't that common. You should see something about a network adaptor usually.
