utorrent

I've tried downloading openoffice and americas army via utorrent and i always get an error saying "no connection could be made becasue the target machine actively refused it." Ive port forwarded and all that stuff. It happens on this computer only,; the others that connect wirelessly dont seem to have any problems.

Running vista, firewall disabled, utorrent 1.7.7, us robotics router 5461 with firewall disabled and upnp enabled.
Comcast internet. utorrent works fine in safe mode with networking

Re: utorrent

Um... OpenOffice and America's Army are FREE. Just go to their sites and download them. Besides you'll download it MUCH faster that way.

Re: utorrent

Yeah, they are free, but you can download them using a .torrent from their sites to save them bandwidth since they are free. That error does seem strange though. If it's not working then you will hafta try downloading from their HTTP or FTP servers.

Re: utorrent

I did download them from their site after all. However, torrent files of any kind do not work. THey download fine in safe mode however. It just started to happen suddenly. I cant recall anything new that was installed. It used to be fine.
The logger tab of utorrent says could not map UPnP port. May that be a problem?

Re: utorrent

If you haven't already, try uninstalling, then reinstalling utorrent.

If that doesn't work, check your router settings. Maybe you need to open some ports.

Re: utorrent

No, it sounds like you might have your Vista firewall still enabled. Make sure not only the one that might be part of your security suite is disabled, but also the one built into Windows Vista. And of course make sure it's the latest version of uTorrent.

I'm sure that you already checked your open ports... since you said you did.
