Can't Use Adobe Reader 7 on Firefox

I updated my Adobe Reader to 7. I now can't use it on Firefox, but it does work fine on Internet Explorer and Mozilla. When I tried using it on Firefox, I got 2 different error messages at different times. One said that I needed to push the refresh button (that did not work), and the other told me that PDF files could not be read on my browser.

What's going on here? Why is it not working on Firefox, but it does work on the other two browsers?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Claude

Re: Can't Use Adobe Reader 7 on Firefox

Which version of Firefox are you using? If you're still using the original and not Firefox 2, you need to go to www.mozilla.com and download the newer version. Also, Adobe Reader 7 should be upgraded to Adobe Reader 8. You are describing one of the problems that appears to be fixed with both of the newer versions.

I usually have installed the reader before Firefox 2 and that fixes the problem. If you are already using Firefox 2 I would suggest uninstalling it, going to www.adobe.com to download and install Adobe Reader 8 and then reinstalling Firefox 2.

uninstall adobe, and download the latest version. upgrades can cause weird issues.

That's basically what I said. Just if you're using the OLD Firefox make sure you install the Adobe Reader version 8 before you install Firefox 2. That way you can be more certain to avoid a problem.
