overclocking question

Hello..

So i can't overclock my E6850.. i have overclocked my cpu on my old motherboard(i'll get the name later) i am using a GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L..

problem is every time i save the settings, the pc restarts and when it gets to the desktop i look up to see if i did overclock it, it shows stock ghz.. i thought i went to high but even 3.1ghz it will go back to stock, any help would be great..

Maybe you need a more powerful cooler on your cpu?
