Please go to this link, follow the steps and post your results:
http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=adt0631p3
Remember, you're not doing the DNS lookup on realm.battle.net, you're doing it on useast.battle.net.

ok
I followed the link to the site and carefully went through all of the instructions. This is what came up. After typing the first one i tried to change realms, but i had no luck.
After typing Microsoft(R) Windows DOS
(C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1990-2001.
C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER>nslookup useast.battle.net > C:\nslookup.txt
Non-authoritative answer:
C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER>nslookup USWEST.battle.net > C:\nslookup.txt
Non-authoritative answer:
C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER>

Apparently you didn't read the directions on the page carefully enough... you need to open nslookup.txt after it has been created. Do a lookup on useast.battle.net again, then open up the file and post its contents.

Okay, that checks out. Now, check your "hosts" file for any Battle.net entries by following these steps:
Checking the Hosts file:
Click on Start then Search or Find files and folders to search your hard drive for a specific file.
In the file name field, type the word "hosts" (without the quotes) and search for that file.
Once Windows has found this file, you may want to make a backup copy and name it hosts.bak.
Double-click the hosts file (not the backup) and choose to open it using Notepad.
The term ".battle.net" should not appear anywhere in this document.
If you see any ".battle.net" entries, please delete them.
Close the Notepad document and choose Yes when it asks you if you want to save the file.
Now start the game and connect to Battle.net.

ok i ran the hosts test and everything checked out fine. Again i tried to log on to battle.net and the bnetlog came up with:
4/30 21:24:15.810 Auto-picking gateway based on GMT
4/30 21:24:15.810 Find gateway closest to 06.00
4/30 21:24:15.810 Gateway 2 (useast.battle.net at GMT 06) is closest to 06.00
4/30 21:24:16.888 Connecting to Battle.net...
4/30 21:24:16.888 querying gateway useast.battle.net
4/30 21:24:17.169 searching for the fastest server
4/30 21:25:28.122 no servers found
I am beginnning to think my mom put somekind of firewall up if that would be a problem. We have Mccaffie virus thing. If that helps

Yes, it's possible that if you have a firewall installed that isn't allowing Diablo II to "access the Internet" you will get the "no servers found" error. The McAfee antivirus program isn't a firewall in itself, but there is a McAfee firewall that comes with the antivirus program in a package. If you're not sure if you have a firewall or not, tell me the names of all of the icons next to your clock and I will tell you if one of them is a firewall. If you've installed a firewall, it should have placed an icon on your taskbar.
Are you able to connect to Battle.net with Telnet? Go here, follow the steps and try it:
http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=adt0631p
If you can connect with Telnet, then that means that the problem is definitely on your end.

I could not connect to telnet. I tried a couple of times. The icons next to my clock are in order: Mcafee virus scan, this aol connections enabled icon, aim, real player, and a local area connection symbol.
Thanks again

If you can't connect with Telnet, that explains why you can't connect with Diablo II.
It doesn't look like you have the McAfee firewall installed. but can the AOL software serve as a firewall?
Blizzard has some tips for AOL users here:
America Online:
To connect to Battle.net via AOL, make sure you are running the latest version of the AOL software.
Make sure you are connecting to AOL with parental controls turned off. If you have continuing problems try logging onto AOL using the Main Account. You can also try connecting to AOL using a different local access number.
The final test you should perform is the trace route test:
http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=adt0631p2
Perform a trace route to useast.battle.net and post the results.

Yes, there's definitely a problem there. You will need to contact AOL and ask them why the connection is timing out at the second hop. Simply tell them your trace route results and they should be able to tell you what the problem is.
