Setting Up PURE in Unreal Tournament 99

I've installed PURE on a dedicated UT99 server (running linux redhat server edition at a hosting company). The server is a sniper server. I had 3 problems:

1) Sniper scope wouldn't zoom

2) Sniper scope graphics won't display

3) Bots run in place and are un-responsive

I figured out the first one, changing the FOV in the pure settings from 2 to 0. That did the trick. But the other 2 problems still persist and I have no idea what to do.

Anybody come across any similar problems and find a solution?

I know PURE isn't fool-proof anymore, but something is better than nothing.
