dvd/cd-rom can't read diablo discs

i have a 16x52x32x52x combo dvd/cd-rom drive and whenever i put in my diablo II install discs they do not seem to read. They all work my friends laptop and I was just wondering if my cd-rom's reading speed is too slow/fast? how would i be able to fix that? or if that is not the case, what are possible solutions i could try? thank you.

Other discs work, correct? And is it at least able to recognize that there is a disc in the drive? Does it show up in My Computer, and if so, are you able to right-click, then click Open and browse the contents? If you can, try running the Setup file from there.

i posted it twice cuz i'd figure it was worth while to post in hardware and in the diablo 2 section but.... yeah it doesn't recognize there's a cd in there.. so i'm downloading a torrent file till i can find another solution :-/

Another solution is just to buy the game. It's pretty cheap.
