Yuri's revenge lags online.

I bought Command & Conqer: The First Decade and when i play yuri's revenge it lags for no reason. When i open up the task manager and set the gamemd and ramd priority to realtime then i get free from lag in skirmish. But online the lag persists and it shows my ping as 1000 when im host (should be 0)! When i didnt have the first decade i only had red alert 2 and on those online games there was no lag, ever. I looked up the ports and opened them (and also checked, they are open) but still no change. Players can join but sometimes it doesnt even start the game and when it does it lags like hell. Please help!

hello... i had the same problem but i fixed it.. if your running xp then follow this...

right click the icon.. then click on properties, next you click on the tap "compatibility" now you should able to click "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" scroll and run it in windows 98 click apply and ok.. their you go, you should able to play it fine..

the problem is SP2 on Xp wont allow old games run well..

It doesn't seem to help because i got the first decade version and when i change compatibility it says "insert the correct DVD". It's written on the box of the first decade that it is XP compatible.

Hmmm I got the decade version and that's what I did... have you turned off your firewall?

Turning it off? Why? I have ports opened on it...

Hmm.. When you play do you have other programs running in the backround(limewire.. bittorrent??)

Have you tryed reinstalling the game?
Does it happend when you join other ppl games or just when you make a game?

When you play what server are you connected to?

No limewire or bittorrent running. I haven't reinstalled the game because it sometimes runs normally, without major lag but sometimes it lags (and sometimes wont even start). Lag happenns only when i host, because when i join a game i mostly have green ping. When i make myself i have a red ping... It's really weird, looks almost like my computer is too far from itself (which is impossible). What server you mean? All i know is that im in XWIS or something.

I just discovered that when i go to the "menu screen" during online game the lag goes away, but when i close it it lags again.
