Unhappy Hosting Warcraft3 Custom Games

Hello, i can't seem to be able to host any custom games on WC3 or Call of Duty 4 either. i bought a port forwarding program in hopes that it would help, but after using it, i still can't host. i'm not exactly computer literate when it comes to ports and gateways and routers and such, but i catch on when something is explained to me and i would really appreciate any help that you can give. the modem/router/whatever-its-called is an actiontec m1424-wr and i'm running it on like a 2 to 3 year old comp with windows xp. i'm not sure if any other information is needed, but i'll gladly look it up the best i can for any help. thanks for your time.

cordially,
matt

Re: Hosting Warcraft3 Custom Games

First off hardware:

http://www.portforward.com/english/r...rcraft_III.htm
http://www.portforward.com/english/r..._of_Duty_4.htm

Then software. Make sure your windows firewall is off and that any software(zonealarm etc) you have is allowing the port traffic.

You can test it on this website: https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 You want to FAIL the custom port scan (probably for port 6112 for war 3) because that means the port is open.

Crap you need if you don’t have it already:
Firefox (Better browser)
Spyware Blaster (Prevent Spyware from Installing)
Ad-Aware (delete spyware)
