Were you hit by the MSBlaster Worm?

With recent reports of an Internet worm running rampant and attacking Windows systems through a vulnerability in the Distributed Component Object, we have seen lots of people getting hit by it, causing a variety of errors, most commonly the Remote Procedure Call and Svchost errors ...

So, have you been hit by the worm?

It shut my system down once. It only happened because I had myself setup as DMZ host on my router, I thought it would be handy to have all ports available at all times, lol. I thought it was pretty unusual to see my pc shut down by itself, so I ran a full virus scan (even though I have a virus scanner active at all times), this time a web-based one. It found nothing, so I decided not to be a DMZ host anymore, and never had it happen again. Then a few days later I read all this and it pretty much explains everything.

I didn't get the worm, though I ended up getting hacked through that exploit. The RPC errors aren't necessarily a sign of infection however, since I did have the RPC errors, but didn't have the worm.

Not I or any of my computers at work. Though my sister got it good. I ended up having to clean her system up last night.

Nope, I'm ok, but my Mother's computer got it! While I was still at work yesterday, my Wife went over to her house, and took care of patching and cleaning the worm from her computer.
