OpenTechSupport.Org Email?
We are planning to put up a FREE email service for Opentechsupport.Org. This kinda works like hotmail, without the spam Hence, you can sign up to have your own username@opentechsupport.org email, and check it online from whatever computer you are using.
So my question is, do you think this'll be a good feature to have? I was gonna implement it sometime next month, and I wanted to know what the general concensus was for this move. Will you use such an email address? Is it too long? Is it a good or a bad idea?
Let me know your thoughts on this upcoming feature

I voted other because E Mail sucks. If it wasn't for buying online, I wouldn't even have it.
Now the OTS E Mail has a use. Sometimes members ask for computer help directly from me instead of posting in the forums for whatever reason.

OTS.org
OTS.com
OTS.net
All registered to other companies/organizations.
I dont really need another email account so I voted "Nah, I like my current email".
Also, wouldnt a free email service raise the running cost of this website?

Hmmm, OTS.ORG is taken, unfortunately... How does OTSMAIL.COM sound?
And I'll be using a free service for the OTS emails... just wanted to see if anyone was interested before I move along with it

I voted I'll keep my email because I've already got three domains with unlimited email addresses on them, so I really don't need free email accounts
The only reason I signed up for Hotmail was so I could check my POP mail from work on breaks. Now, if I could check my POP mail on OTS, THAT would definately be useful - if I had to sign up for an OTS email account to do it, I would, and I'd just never use the OTS email box.
Just my .56 roubles...

I voted that I don't believe in free email because I don't LOL
Seriously, I've had free email on my site before, using everyone.net, about 2 years ago I would have recomended them, but now they have gone down th pan. Because of this, i'm going to kill the web-mail service that I currently have (with everyone.net) and sign-up for bigmailbox.com using the same domain (i've not advertised my webmail service for over a year now, (and I know that only one person uses it) so It should be a nice and simple swap of the MX records on the domain name (which is eerie.org in case anyone is interedted).
I personally think that opentechsupport.org is a little bit too long for an email address, but otsmail.com sounds like a cool idea.
BTW, out of interest, who was you going to use for the mail service? or are you going to be hosting your own (costly)

Nah for me. I use gunslinger@opentechsupport.net and my .edu address for just about everything.
However, I do get the impression that poll wasn't so much looking for responses from staff as it was every other member of the OTS community (staffers already have their staff POP3 account).
