What would you spend to play Console games online?

Console games online seem to be the next big thing. I personally think price will keep it from being the next big thing. Let's see what a poll says.

I voted if the games end up being real cool. The broadband charges don't apply to me since I already have it.

Someone who doesn't have it might not consider it an option though considering the extra cost. I only see broadband going up in price as well.

I dont like consoles going online but I will be playing some of the games, Like FFXI, TM:B and Resident Evil online, games that I wont be able to get for PC(or wont be out on PC for a very long time). Other than that, not much I take interest in it. I already have THPS3 so Ill give that a Try online.

I already have broadband so the only charge Ill be getting is the $10.95 or whatever per month for FFXI. Problem is that FFXi and SWG will be coming out close together. I want to play them both but I dont wanna neglect one over the other.

I already have broadband but there's no way in hell I'm gonna pay a monthly fee that high for online gaming, especially for a console.

The prices include broadband since most console gamer's don't have that at all. And for most, gaming would be the only incentive if they don't own a PC.

I have broadband. I have yet to meet a game interesting enough that I would a) pay for initially, b) continue paying for the privilege of playing. I lose interest too quickly. Now where's my Ritalin?

I agree with Shalome. I wouldn't start paying for a game I haven't already played. And a monthly fee would make me hestitate about even buying the game to start with. I pay enough money to buy the actual game. Example: FFX costs €60 here in Sweden. If FFXI would cost as much to buy, and I would have to pay extra money to play online, I wouldn't buy it. That's it. Oh, btw, broadband isn't always expensive. I only pay €2.50 per month for my real broadband, 10 Mbit both directions.

I already have a BB connection. I think a better poll would be to ask how much you would be willing to pay as a monthly fee to play a game. Assuming it is a good game.

Personally I am against pay to play games. I have only done one (EQ), and that was becasue my two eldests talked me into playing it with them. I just about stopped playing the game when Sony raised their rates from 9.95 to 12.95 a month (less if you paid 3, 6, or 12 months in advance).

WTF? How did you do that, do you own the broadband company or something?

Generally, the monthly fee in Sweden is somewhere around €20-€30 per month, but I live close to my University (not in a dorm, in a real apartment of my own) so I get a cheap connection through them. This is very common in Sweden. The Swedish University Net, SUNET, has 253108 registered computers. That number includes both private and office computers, but considering that there are only 9 million swedes, that number is very high. And those people get free broadband...

I don't have broadband and I won't get it just for one game.
